Which DIY option should I choose?

If you already have suitable build plates, choose 3MF Print Files + Assembly Pack (Screws + Tools). If you also need three PEI build plates, choose 3MF Files+Assembly Pack+3 PCS PEI. Both options require you to print the parts yourself.

Do the DIY options include printed parts?

No. You receive the SwapMod 3MF print files and assembly pack, then print the parts yourself. Printed parts and printer are not included.

Does the basic DIY option include PEI build plates?

No. The 3MF Print Files + Assembly Pack (Screws + Tools) option does not include build plates. The 3MF Files+Assembly Pack+3 PCS PEI option includes three PEI build plates.

Can I buy a kit with printed components?

Choose A1 Swapmod Kit+5 PCS PEI if you prefer a kit with printed components and five PEI plates. Review the selected option's image and item list before ordering. Assembly and installation are required.

Is the printer included?

No. The Bambu Lab A1 shown in installation and demonstration images is not included.

Why is the Assembly Pack sold separately?

It is intended for customers who already have the required files and printed parts, and need assembly hardware and tools for another build, replacement, or expansion. The standalone Assembly Pack is not a complete SwapMod kit.

What is the difference between SwapMod and ASWAP?

SwapMod is the mechanical plate-changing hardware. ASWAP provides software tools for file preparation and printer workflows. The web tool and Windows application have different functions.

Does installing SwapMod automatically schedule print jobs?

No. You must prepare the appropriate print files and workflow. Further task scheduling and SwapMod integration for the Windows beta application are in development. Follow the current instructions for the tool you use.

Does SwapMod require firmware modification?

No. SwapMod operates through mechanical movement and prepared printer sequences without custom A1 firmware.

Does SwapMod require soldering?

No. The mechanical plate-changing system does not require soldering additional electronics.

Does SwapMod work with AMS Lite?

Yes. SwapMod operates independently of the filament-loading system. Prepare your AMS Lite jobs according to the workflow instructions.

Is SwapMod compatible with the A1 Mini?

No. This product is designed specifically for the standard Bambu Lab A1.

Do I need a print farm to use SwapMod?

No. SwapMod can be useful for a single A1 owner running repeat jobs, as well as small workshops preparing small-batch production.

Are the DIY and physical-kit installation steps different?

The installation steps are the same once the required parts are ready. DIY customers print the parts themselves before assembly.

Is ASWAP still being developed?

Yes. ASWAP for Windows is currently in beta. Current tools are available, while additional management, scheduling, and integration features are being developed. Check the download page for the current release.
